As ranked by U.S. News and World Report in 2008, Santa Clara:

• Is the No. 2 comprehensive university in the West for the 19th consecutive year
• Has the highest freshman retention rate (93.5 percent) in the West among master's universities
• Has the second highest undergraduate graduation rate (85 percent) among among all U.S. master's universities
• Is ranked 21st in undergraduate engineering programs in the country

Santa Clara University

Sophomore Tanya Schmidt made the WCC All-Freshman Team in her first year.

• Has one of the top 100 law schools in the country
• Has one of the top 10 intellectual property law programs
• Of the 2007 graduates looking for full-time work, 82 percent were employed full time, attending graduate school or participating in a service program.

• Kaplan College Guide calls SCU one of the 25 most environmentally
• In 2008, SCU was named to the U.S. President's Higher Education Community Service Honor Roll for community service programs and student involvement.

Bronco Bench Foundation

Since 1962 the Bronco Bench Foundation has been active in supporting the scholarship needs of Santa Clara's student-athletes. In 2008-09 the Bronco Bench Foundation provided Santa Clara's student-athletes with nearly $1.4 million in scholarship aid, representing nearly 33 percent of all athletic scholarship assistance awarded. Each year, more than 200 student-athletes receive athletic scholarship aid through the Bronco Bench Foundation.
