STANFORD FOOTBALL
Winning Ways Will Continue

After coming off an 8-5 record (6-3 in the Pac-10) and a fourth-place finish in the Pac-10, Stanford football looks to turn more heads this season. The 2009 season featured a number of impressive wins for the Cardinal, including wins at No. 11 USC, No. 24 Washington and No. 7 Oregon, which culminated in the Cardinal's first bowl game appearance since 2001: a trip to El Paso, to take on Oklahoma in the Sun Bowl. The team's success against those and others led the Cardinal to be ranked in the top 25 for four weeks last season.
Despite the loss of star running back and Heisman runner-up Toby Gerhart, the Cardinal offense looks promising heading into the 2010 season. Quarterback Andrew Luck, a top draft prospect, along with four returning starters on the Cardinal's impressive offensive line, and wide receivers Ryan Whalen and Chris Owusu look to lead the Cardinal offense. Meanwhile, linebacker Shane Skov and nose tackle Sione Fua look to anchor a much-improved Cardinal defense.
Led once again by former NFL quarterback and head coach Jim Harbaugh, the Cardinal looks to gain even more ground this season in the incredibly competitive Pac-10 Conference.
Tickets are available for purchase at the Stanford Athletic Ticket Office, online at Gostanford.com, or over the phone at 1-800-STANFORD (782-3673). Season tickets are the way to go for the best value and great seats. Prices range from $145 for corner/end-zone seats to $350 for sideline seats. The Family Season Plan is just $199 for general admission seating for a family of four. General admission single-game tickets are available for only $8.79 per person. Season-ticket holders also receive priority consideration for single-game football tickets and postseason play, as well as parking permit access to reserved lots.
Stanford opens the season at home against Sacramento State, and also hosts Wake Forest, USC, Washington, Oregon State and Arizona. The annual reunion homecoming game is scheduled for Oct. 23 against Washington State, with kickoff set for 2 p.m. The Cardinal finishes off the regular season hosting Pac-10 rivals Arizona and Oregon State.
As a reminder, the Walk, one of Stanford's time-honored traditions, will begin two hours prior to scheduled kickoff time. Head coach Jim Harbaugh and all the Stanford players will walk through campus to the stadium and will be led by prominent football alumni.
